Socar said on Tuesday it has revamped the business profile pricing plans of its corporate membership service, Socar Enterprise. It aims to boost demand from business users by simplifying its previous four plans into two and newly applying always-on discounts.
Socar partially integrated its four existing plans — Basic type, Work discount type, Welfare discount type and Customised corporate type — into two plans, Basic and Plus. It also adjusted usage conditions so customers can receive always-on additional discounts that include what had previously been provided through monthly discount coupons. Existing payment price bands remain unchanged, while new weekday and weekend discounts were added.
Under the revamped Basic plan, an additional 3 percent discount applies at all times on both weekdays and weekends, with no separate subscription fee. Under the Plus plan, companies pay a monthly subscription fee of 10,000 won per employee to receive an additional 10 percent discount on weekdays and 3 percent on weekends. Through July this year, 86 percent of corporate member usage occurred on weekdays, and 80 percent of usage was during business hours between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The additional discounts are applied on top of personal profile discounts when using Socar under a business profile. At the payment stage, the most advantageous combination of discounts is applied automatically, allowing business profile members to pay the same or a lower price than personal profile members even when booking the same vehicle at the same time. Socar will also implement a "price simplification" policy that integrates existing discount rates into rental fees. The aim is to narrow the gap between discount rates shown on the reservation screen and the payment price to help purchasing decisions, while the final payment amount remains unchanged.
The number of corporations signed up for Socar Enterprise rose 45 percent as of the end of July 2026 compared with the end of 2021, and cumulative users increased about 40-fold over the same period. This year, corporate members averaged 123 km per trip and about 14 hours in usage time, up from 114 km and 12 hours in 2021. The three most-used vehicle models were The New Avante, The New Seltos and The All-New Kona, and the combined share of the top three exceeded half.
Baek Ji-ye (백지예), head of the Socar Enterprise group, said more than half of client companies with usage records over the past year used the Socar Enterprise membership for two consecutive years, and 16 percent were long-term clients that have used it for five consecutive years. She said Socar maintained existing payment price bands, simplified the plans into two types and applied always-on discounts so more companies, regardless of size, can use Socar as a means of business travel.
