PIPC strengthens response to personal data leaks at public institutions

South Korea’s Personal Information Protection Commission said it did not impose penalties in a case involving 2.96 million records at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education because it fell under rules in force before September 2023, when fines did not apply without resident registration number leaks. The commission said it introduced fines of up to 2 billion won for public-sector leaks after September 2023 and will raise the maximum to 5 billion won from Sept. 11, 2026.

Binance to end trading in 3 stablecoin spot pairs on Sept 11

Binance will end trading in three spot trading pairs with low volume and liquidity: OPEN/FDUSD, SAGA/FDUSD and VELODROME/USDC, starting Sept. 11, U.Today reported. The move does not delist the underlying tokens, which will remain tradable on other pairs such as USDT or BTC. Binance said it regularly reviews liquidity and trading volume and shifts activity to more active pairs. It will also automatically shut spot trading bots linked to the affected pairs.

Wintermute says bitcoin bull market still in early stage; watch $82,000 and $72,000

Some investors who think they missed the entry point after bitcoin’s sharp rise may instead miss the early phase of a new bull cycle, U.Today reported. Market maker Wintermute said the current move is a pause before the next leg higher, citing stock-market fatigue and a rotation of funds into bitcoin and ether. It flagged $82,000 and $72,000 as key levels and said the U.S. CPI on Sept. 11 is a major variable.
