Smilegate Hope Studio will run a creative education program using AI for children and teenagers in the Daegu area.

Hope Studio said on Sept. 18 it will run "Let's Play! Digital Creative Explorers" at 10 local child centers in Daegu's Seo-gu and Nam-gu districts and in Gunwi County.

A total of 113 people will participate, including 93 children and teenagers at local child centers and 20 youth mentors. Hope Studio selected participating institutions and mentors after reviewing application motivations and operational capabilities.

Participants will carry out creative activities for eight weeks from the fourth week of September through late November under the theme of a "City Exploration Challenge". Teams of 2 youth mentors will visit local child centers to support photo shooting, storytelling and drawing, and children will use AI and creative tools to turn the city as they see it into finished works.

Earlier, on Sept. 11, Daegu Technopark held an orientation for teachers and mentors at local child centers. The event introduced the program's operating direction, how to use the mobile creative learning application "Ahaoho", and the eight-week curriculum.

Digital Creative Explorers is a program that supports creative activities and digital capabilities for children and teenagers in areas with declining populations and in remote island and mountainous regions. It is run with funding from the Community Chest of Korea and the Lottery Fund of the Lottery Commission.

Earlier, from July 27 to 31, Hope Studio ran a generative AI-based music video production program at 2 local child centers in Wando County, South Jeolla Province, with 22 children and teenagers and 6 youth mentors taking part.

Kwon Yeon-joo (권연주), a director at Hope Studio, said, "We are narrowing regional gaps in creative environments and raising the future capabilities of children and teenagers." She added, "We will continue to support the growth of the future generation by cooperating with public, corporate and private partners."
