Upstage CEO Kim Sung-hoon says Fable5 foreign access ban highlights need for Korean sovereign AI
Upstage, a South Korean AI startup, said it aims to compete in global technology rivalry with sovereign AI. CEO Kim Sung-hoon said AI has become a national strategic asset and countries can cut off access. He cited a recent U.S. move to block foreigners from accessing Anthropic’s Fable5 and Mythos5. Upstage said its open-source Solar Open2 preview scored 44.4 on AAII 4.0 and is comparable to leading models.

Worksphear steps up job support for young adults with borderline intelligence
AI and data-based HR tech platform Worksphear held a briefing session to expand work-experience opportunities for young adults with borderline intelligence. The event, held on June 4 at its Seoul headquarters, brought together about 30 HR staff, mentors and coaches from eight workplaces in the first cohort of the 2026 Future Tomorrow Work Experience programme. Worksphear will jointly run the project this year with Seoul’s Mim Center.

KT said on April 28 it has prepared content and promotions for Genie TV IPTV customers to mark May, designated as Family Month.
