LG Uplus said on March 22 it provided stable communications services at a BTS concert held on March 21 at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul by using an autonomous network-based response system.

LG Uplus said the number of connected devices around Gwanghwamun Square, Sejong-daero and Seoul City Hall rose to about double at 8 p.m., when the concert began, compared with the same time the previous weekend.

LG Uplus said it deployed mobile base stations and temporary repeaters in advance and checked and optimised capacity at existing base stations. During the event, it monitored traffic in real time. If traffic concentrated on a specific base station, it automatically adjusted operating settings, such as power output and connection retention time, to distribute traffic to nearby base stations. It also activated a dual response system that operated both on-site staff and an emergency response system at the Magok network control centre.

An LG Uplus official said, "Based on collaboration between technology and people, we supported this event in a stable manner, and we will continue to provide seamless communications services at large-scale events."
