Apple says it did not simply use Samsung Display as is, stresses lead role in foldable iPhone design

Apple has set out its position on claims that its foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, simply uses Samsung Display components. NineToFiveMac reported Apple executives said in a recent interview that Samsung’s role as a supplier should be distinguished from Apple’s product development and design process. The interview, released on YouTube on Oct. 14, also discussed durability, the camera placed under the folding screen and Apple’s approach to product design.

Hanyang University opens AI semiconductor innovation research institute with SK Hynix, LG Electronics and others

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT opened an AI Semiconductor Innovation Research Institute at Hanyang University to train key master\'s and PhD-level talent in AI semiconductors. The ministry held an opening ceremony with the Institute of Information and Communications Technology Planning and Evaluation. The institute will run industry-tailored research and education programs and require NPU-based projects. It will receive government support for up to six years and aims to train at least 110 graduates.

MSIT holds \'AI-Inglass Forum\' to discuss industry-academia-research cooperation

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT held the \'AI-Inglass Forum\' in Seoul on Sept. 15 to discuss cooperation among industry, academia and research institutions in preparation for growth in the AI glasses market. About 150 participants attended, including companies, universities and research bodies. The event included keynote speeches, an ETRI strategy presentation and a panel on building an AI glasses ecosystem. It was held under an ETRI-led project running from 2026 to 2030 with 45 billion won in funding.
