Samsung SDS held 'RX ART (Robotics Transformation Advancing Robotics Together) 2026' in Mountain View, California, from Aug. 31 to Sept. 1 local time, with robot executives and leaders from major Samsung affiliates attending.

Samsung SDS validated industrial-site robot use cases jointly identified with affiliates with global physical AI companies such as Walden Robotics and RoboForce, and shared the results.

Samsung SDS first used Walden Robotics' general-purpose robots to implement various manual tasks needed at manufacturing sites of Samsung Electro-Mechanics and SEMES, such as parts handling and consumable replacement, to validate on-site applicability.

For work in unstructured and rough outdoor environments such as shipbuilding and plant sites at Samsung Heavy Industries and Samsung E&A, it applied RoboForce's physical AI-based Robo-Labor technology to confirm the possibility of robot automation.

In manufacturing and equipment environments requiring highly precise work, such as at Samsung Display, the company said it proved the possibility of automating complex and delicate processes by combining dexterous manipulation AI technology from robotics startup Company G.

Samsung SDS plans to turn the technical possibilities and optimal application plans confirmed through 'RX ART 2026' into real-world field demonstrations at affiliates, and expand validated robot use cases.

Ahn Dae-joong (안대중), head of Digital Factory at Samsung SDS and a vice president, said, "This RX ART was an opportunity for Samsung affiliates with different manufacturing sites to experience the technology together and share their concerns." He said, "Samsung SDS will continue to expand strategic cooperation with global physical AI robot companies and actively support the push for manufacturing RX at Samsung affiliates."
