Government pledge to check 1,650 IT systems left private firms to self-audit

South Korea\'s government said last year it would inspect security vulnerabilities in 1,650 IT systems, but did not separately verify the self-check results submitted by private companies, data showed. The Ministry of Science and ICT collected only documents confirming whether checks were conducted and did not receive details of vulnerabilities found. Lawmaker Lee Jeong-heon said some firms that reported completing checks later had personal data leaks or reported incidents to KISA.

Shinsegae I&C to launch nine models of Meta\'s new AI glasses in South Korea

Shinsegae I&C, the distributor for Meta\'s device lineup, said on Sunday it will begin full-scale distribution of Meta\'s new Glasses models in South Korea. Meta unveiled its next-generation glasses lineup at the Meta Connect 2026 event in Menlo Park, California, on Sept. 23 local time. Shinsegae I&C will handle domestic distribution of 9 models across 21 SKUs, including Ray-Ban Meta third generation and a LISA hub-up collection.

Testing ChatGPT-6 Astra for tedious tasks from train tickets to account deletion

A reporter tested OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra on delayed web chores ranging from an OTT compensation claim and account deletion to bargain shopping and Chuseok train tickets. It could navigate sites, summarise conditions and complete multi-step forms, but logins, phone verification, CAPTCHAs and anti-macro blocks limited hands-free use. It performed well on checking National Assembly schedules and creating a GIF thumbnail, and it helped upload images and captions in a newsroom editing system.
