SSG.com, Shinsegae Group's integrated e-commerce platform, said on Wednesday it will run a week-long free delivery promotion through Jan. 28, supported by growth in its quick commerce service BaroQuick.

BaroQuick delivers E-Mart store items in about 1 hour when ordered. During the promotion period, customers who buy 30,000 won or more of E-Mart items will receive 2 free delivery coupons per ID.

SSG.com said the number of BaroQuick orders from Jan. 1 to 19 rose 50 percent from a year earlier. Women accounted for 80 percent of customers, and usage was highest among people in their 40s at 40 percent, followed by those in their 50s at 30 percent and those in their 30s at 20 percent. It also recorded steep growth among older groups, including people in their 60s at 58 percent and those in their 50s at 51 percent.

SSG.com expanded its logistics hubs from 60 last month to 70 this month to meet demand. It added 10 regional locations, including the Jeju area, and plans to increase the number of hubs nationwide to 90 in the first half of this year. The number of products handled has also doubled from the service launch in September last year to about 12,000.

An SSG.com official said, "As demand for instant delivery services is rising evenly across all age groups, we are continuing to expand logistics hubs." The official added, "We will further raise customer satisfaction through the free delivery promotion."
