South Korea, Italy discuss science and technology cooperation in AI, climate and bio

South Korea and Italy will expand science and technology cooperation centred on three areas: artificial intelligence, climate change and bio, South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said. The two countries held the 13th Korea-Italy Joint Committee on Science and Technology in Rome with Italy\'s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. They reviewed outcomes from joint bio and chemistry research, discussed future agendas including physical AI semiconductors and climate-response crops, and explored broader cooperation on brain disease research. The next meeting will be held in Seoul.

Oura unveils 40 percent smaller Oura Ring 5

Smart ring maker Oura has unveiled the Oura Ring 5, which it says is 40 percent smaller than the previous generation. The company is also expanding AI-based health management features and subscription services. Shipments begin on June 4. The base model costs $399, while premium finishes cost $499, and a portable charging case is sold separately for $99. New features include Health Radar, blood pressure pattern tracking during sleep and GLP-1 Insights.

China\'s top court is reviewing trial standards for disputes involving cryptocurrencies, cross-border finance and artificial intelligence as it overhauls its framework for digital-economy cases. The move is seen as refining judicial criteria for recurring digital-asset disputes under an unchanged ban on crypto trading and mining. The court is also studying protection rules for AI-generated content and data rights. China has reiterated continued restrictions on crypto while accelerating expansion of the state-led digital yuan.
