SKT CEO Jung Jae-heon says AI shift must overcome discomfort to reach \'J-curve\'

Jung Jae-heon (정재헌), CEO of SK Telecom, shared future strategy using AI and guidance for proper use in a lecture at Seoul National University. SKT said Jung delivered a special lecture on Sept. 1 titled \"Choices and Opportunities in the AI Era\" as the first class of an AI joint programme the company and the university have run for 10 years. Jung outlined a \"J-curve\" for AI transformation and three work methods, and highlighted capabilities needed for talent in the AI era.

South Korea launches \'K-Moonshot Humanoid\' drive, aims for national platform within three years

South Korea is stepping up efforts to secure competitiveness in humanoids by combining AI and robotics technology. The Ministry of Science and ICT held a meeting on Aug. 25 to gather views from industry, academia and research institutes on a draft \'K-Moonshot AI Humanoid Mission\' roadmap. The government aims to localise AI models and key parts and link development, testing and mass production. It also outlined plans for a new Next-X Humanoid Challenge and plans to select a national-level platform from 2027.

Google unveils Gemini Robotics 2, says it can adapt to new robots in hours

Google on July 31 unveiled Gemini Robotics 2, which it described as a core intelligence model for next-generation robots. The company said the system enables robots to plan and execute movements intelligently, perform a range of tasks and work with other robots to complete jobs. It said the physical intelligence can run locally on devices and adapt to new robot forms within hours through three model variants.
