AI adoption is a technical task, but embedding it is a management issue, Hanwha Solutions team leader says

Hanwha Solutions is focusing on embedding AI transformation at an organisational level rather than individual use, an executive said on Thursday. The company initially targeted automation and personal productivity, but now links AI to organisational goals and harder problems across its core business and value chain. It routes all AI calls through an AWS account-based LLM gateway to Amazon Bedrock to keep logs and manage usage, and says governance is essential to scale.

Samsung Electronics chairman Lee Jae-yong inspects UAE Al Dhafra power plant site

Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong (이재용) visited the construction site of the Al Dhafra gas-fired power plant in Abu Dhabi, the company said. He encouraged local employees and discussed strategies to secure future growth engines and plans to enter new businesses with executives of Samsung C&T and Samsung E&A. Lee also reviewed the construction schedule and safety management. The company said the plant is intended to meet rising electricity demand in the UAE.

Dell unveils two rugged laptops for industrial sites rated IP66 and 1.8-metre drop

Dell Technologies on Oct. 19 introduced two new rugged laptops for industrial and public safety sites, the Dell Pro Rugged 13 Extreme and Dell Pro Rugged 14, and said both are already on sale this month. Both use Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors with up to 50 TOPS NPU performance. The 13-inch full-rugged model is rated IP66 and tested for 1.8-metre drops, while the 14-inch semi-rugged model is rated IP53 and tested for 0.91-metre drops.
