Wemix Dollar contract admin rights stolen, 5.23 million tokens abnormally minted

Administrator rights to the Wemix Dollar (WEMIX$) stablecoin contract in the WEMIX ecosystem were stolen, leading to the abnormal minting of about 5.23 million tokens. The Wemix team halted Wemix 3.0 internal and external bridges, related liquidity pool trading, and some services. Minted WEMIX$ was swapped into WEMIX and USDC.e and moved via bridges to Ethereum and BSC, with some assets reaching centralized exchanges.

Digital Asset raises additional $10 million from Shinhan Financial, SC Ventures

Digital Asset, developer of the Canton blockchain, has raised an additional $10 million from South Korea’s Shinhan Financial Group and Standard Chartered’s SC Ventures. TheBlock reported the investment increased the company’s ongoing funding round to $365 million from $355 million, at the same $2 billion valuation as the previous round. Digital Asset last month announced a $355 million fundraising led by a16z crypto with participation from major institutions.

AFX Protocol estimates $24.15 million loss from bridge attack

Arbitrum-based decentralized perpetual futures exchange AFX Protocol is estimated to have lost assets worth $24.15 million in a cross-chain bridge attack. Cointelegraph reported the incident occurred in a third-party protocol and did not affect the Arbitrum native bridge. Security firm Blockaid said it detected an attack targeting an AFX-operated bridge. Offchain Labs co-founder Steven Goldfeder also confirmed a third-party protocol was affected. The cause and any additional losses remain unconfirmed.
