Naver, Kakao unions call for group-wide collective bargaining, urge rule changes
Unions at Naver and Kakao called on Oct. 1 for integrated collective bargaining that covers affiliated companies, urging the National Assembly and government to revise rules. They said parent companies influence affiliates\' management and working conditions but deny bargaining responsibility by citing separate corporate entities. The unions said Naver and Kakao rejected requests after the revised Trade Union and Labour Relations Adjustment Act took effect in March.

Nexon starts pre-registrations for Temppal: Overgeared, launch due this year
Nexon has begun pre-registrations for its new MMORPG Temppal: Overgeared, based on the Temppal web novel and webtoon IP. The company said sign-ups will be available via the official page and Kakao. The PC and mobile cross-platform game is set to launch this year in South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. Pre-registration events offer in-game rewards and prize entries.

Wemade union formed, seeks job security
A KCTU-affiliated labour union has been formed at South Korean game company Wemade ahead of a planned change in its largest shareholder. The union said it will prepare for collective bargaining, seeking job security, improved working conditions and the continuation of key businesses. It cited growing anxiety among employees as Chairman Park Kwan-ho sells his entire stake. The union also raised concerns about management uncertainty linked to performance and WEMIX issues.
