Nexon has started pre-registrations for Temppal: Overgeared, a new massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that uses the intellectual property (IP) of the web novel and webtoon Temppal.

Nexon said on Wednesday that pre-registrations for Temppal: Overgeared, being developed by Gray Games, will be available through the official page and Kakao. The game is set to launch this year as a PC and mobile cross-platform title in South Korea as well as Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau.

The official pre-registration page will run events titled Road to the Unknown and Challenge! The Legendary Blacksmith. Pre-registration rewards include the companion pet Petal Rabbit, and players who take part in the events can receive items including God Hand equipment and titles.

Users who pre-register through Kakao will receive entries for a prize draw to win items including a GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card and an iPad 11. Nexon will also hand out gold, hunting support boxes and guaranteed crafting material boxes through events to subscribe to the official YouTube channel and add the Kakao channel as a friend.

Nexon will also release the first episode of a video series, Temppal: Overtalk, on Wednesday afternoon to introduce the game's development direction and key systems.

The video features producer Choi Byung-cheon (최병천) and director Yoon Soon-jun (윤순준), who introduce a growth structure centered on equipment. The system is designed to lower the burden of progression by enabling players to acquire equipment through a variety of routes, and to link character growth to continued use of acquired equipment through features such as weapon modification and signature equipment.

Temppal: Overgeared is an MMORPG developed by Gray Games and published by Nexon based on the Temppal IP. The original work recorded a cumulative 1.3 billion views across the web novel and webtoon on KakaoPage, and it once ranked No. 1 in popularity on the Asian web novel platform Wuxiaworld.

On the Japanese digital comics and novels platform Piccoma, it recorded 85.28 million cumulative likes and won the Piccoma Awards 2023.
