Kakao Games to open pre-registration for new title \'World of Goblins\' on Aug. 20
Kakao Games said on Wednesday it released the first advertising video for the new 2.5D MMORPG \'World of Goblins,\' which is being developed by Supercat, and will begin pre-registration on Aug. 20. The video features actor Park Ji-hoon, the game’s official model. The title is based on Naver Web Novel \'Myeolgwi Sudujeon\' and has a webtoon of the same name on Naver Webtoon.

G-Star expands content to AI, webtoons and mobility, reduces reliance on game studios
G-Star, South Korea\'s largest game exhibition, plans to broaden its scope to AI, webtoons and mobility while expanding organiser-led in-house content to reduce dependence on participating game studios. The organisers named expansion of industry and audience reach and increased in-house content as key strategies for G-Star 2026, to be held in Busan in November. AI story platform Crack will be main sponsor, and Hyundai Motor will run a special programme.

Naver Webtoon shuts 3 illegal webtoon sites in international operation, operators arrested
Naver Webtoon said on Aug. 13 it shut down three global English-language illegal webtoon and comics distribution sites and arrested their operators through international cooperation with South Korea\'s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Interpol and law enforcement agencies in North Africa. The sites targeted users in the United States and Europe, offering about 300 Naver Webtoon works via unauthorized scanning and translation.
