Naver Webtoon launches byUs AI story chat based on webtoon IP

Naver Webtoon has launched an AI-based interactive service that lets readers create stories using the company’s webtoon intellectual property. The service, called byUs, allows users to talk with characters based on creator-approved webtoon IP to develop new narratives. It offers two formats: original stories built on the source world and character settings, and fan stories that add new situations and relationships. Features include suggested replies, autoplay, snapshots and special cuts.

Naver Webtoon launches Cutsmake app for fan-made short anime

Naver Webtoon is launching Cutsmake, an app for creating short-form animations using official webtoon intellectual property approved by original creators. Linked to its short animation service Cuts, the app lets users select scenes and characters to make videos without copyright infringement concerns. The main features are Character Meme and Webtoon Music Video. Nine popular webtoons will participate first. Basic functions are free, with some paid options.

Naver obtains ISO 22301 certification for disaster response

Naver has obtained an international standard certification for a crisis-response system designed to minimise service disruptions and enable rapid recovery during disasters. The company held an ISO 22301 certification ceremony on June 19 at its 1784 headquarters in Seongnam, Gyeonggi province, it said. Key affiliates including Naver Webtoon and Naver Cloud participated. Naver said it standardised response processes by disaster type and will run regular drills and training.
