Webzen said on Tuesday it has confirmed the official game title of its in-house new project, "Project D1", as "Tyrant of the Defense Game: Last Stage" and unveiled its brand identity.

"Tyrant of the Defense Game: Last Stage", or "Digeumpok", is a command strategy role-playing game being developed by Webzen unit Webzen Crevix based on the intellectual property of Naver Webtoon series "Tyrant of the Defense Game". It is being developed with a target release in 2027.

The subtitle "Last Stage" is meant to convey that the game will present, in game form, the story of a final stage expanded from the original IP. It plans to develop a new story through additional episodes for characters from the original work and relationship settings among characters.

The game rebuilds the original work's "exploration-defense battle-territory management" structure into a system centered on party composition and tactical operation. It combines placement strategies by character roles such as tankers and damage dealers with elements that allow users to directly command characters.

For visuals, it applies Unreal Engine 5-based 3D graphics and a diorama pixel art technique. Backgrounds will be implemented in three dimensions based on the dot-graphic world view of the game that appears in the original work, and characters will be produced through pixel-level manual work.

Webzen plans to disclose additional information and a launch schedule in line with development progress. In the second half of this year, it also plans to sequentially announce information on new titles, including "Project G", a massively multiplayer online role-playing game based on its "MU" IP.
