Desilo to develop FHE-based data and model protection tech in physical AI national project

Desilo, a private AI company specialising in fully homomorphic encryption, said on Thursday it will join a government-backed R&D project on multi-layer security technology for collaborative intelligence systems. In the project, it will develop end-to-end encryption based on fully homomorphic encryption and privacy-preserving federated learning. The task is led by Raonsecure with partners including Senstone, Tilon, IT Station, and industry-academic groups at Sogang University and Jeonbuk National University.

Choi Hyuk-jin says NIPA policy-designated budget totals 39.7 billion won over five years, skipped open calls

South Korea\'s science ministry allocated project budgets worth 39.7 billion won through the National IT Industry Promotion Agency over the past five years without public calls, independent lawmaker Choi Hyuk-jin said on Wednesday. Choi said the ministry used a policy-designation method to decide recipients and amounts from 2022 through this year. He said this year\'s 11.08 billion won was concentrated in three organisations and argued the approach could run counter to the open-competition principle under the National Research and Development Innovation Act.

Park Yoon-kyu (박윤규) says NIPA to expand GPU supply to foster homegrown AI ecosystem

South Korea has secured 19,000 graphics processing units (GPUs) this year to speed up the expansion of AI infrastructure, Park Yoon-kyu said. Park, head of the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), said GPUs would be supplied quickly to startups, small firms and research institutions to meet demand for AI development. He also highlighted results from a homegrown AI foundation model initiative.
