South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency will launch a "Level 3 program" to support small and medium-sized Korean software-as-a-service (SaaS) companies expanding into Japan as part of the "2026 Global SaaS Marketplace Support project".

The Level 3 program will run intensively for three months from September to November. It will link Japan's hub cities of Fukuoka and Tokyo and focus on generating tangible business results for Korean SaaS companies.

NIPA said it completed the process of identifying and selecting participating companies in August through recruitment and evaluations of technical capability and market viability. It said efforts are now under way to identify Japanese demand, targeting local governments, venture investors, research institutions, customer companies and resellers in Japan.

Business consultation meetings and networking events will also be held in Fukuoka in early October and in Tokyo in late October.

A NIPA official said this year's global marketplace support program is being fully 추진 on the basis of prior demand analysis and a tailored process. The official said NIPA would provide all-around support so companies can verify the feasibility of applying Korean SaaS technology in the Japanese market and secure early demonstration opportunities, enabling them to expand business nationwide beyond regional demonstrations in Japan.
