Naver, Kakao set to post record first-quarter results led by commerce and ads

Naver and Kakao posted their best-ever results last year and are stepping up competition this year to monetise generative AI through agent services. Naver plans to expand its AI Briefing and roll out vertical agents starting with shopping, linking AI search to purchases and reservations. Naver to expand AI and delivery investment, aims to make 2026 a commerce turning point

Naver said it will make this year a turning point for its commerce business by expanding AI-driven search and strengthening N Delivery infrastructure. The company reported 2025 revenue of 12.04 trillion won and operating profit of 2.21 trillion won, up 12.1 percent and 11.6 percent. It plans to double the scope of AI Briefing by year-end, unveil a shopping agent in late February, expand delivery coverage and return 25 to 35 percent of average free cash flow to shareholders.
