SemiFive pushes to commercialise eMRAM-based edge AI chip

SemiFive and ICY Tech said on May 7 they succeeded in taping out an edge AI semiconductor based on Samsung Foundry\'s 8-nanometre eMRAM technology. They said it is the first case in Asia in which 8-nanometre eMRAM technology is introduced into a commercial product. The project combined ICY Tech\'s processing-near-memory technology with SemiFive\'s SoC design platform to enable AI computing in edge environments without a separate network connection.

Desilo launches commercial homomorphic encryption software based on GL Scheme

Desilo, a privacy-enhancing technologies company, said on April 28 it has launched commercial software implementing the fifth-generation fully homomorphic encryption technology it calls the GL Scheme. The company said this brings closer the practical use of private AI, which trains and runs inference while data remains encrypted, reducing the risk of data leaks. It said the scheme improves efficiency for matrix multiplication, a key AI workload, and is optimised for CPU and GPU environments with Python support.

Why a pullback could be a stronger signal than gold\'s 17 percent rally

Gold has rebounded 17 percent from a March 23 low of $4,105 an ounce to around $4,676 on April 3, but the basis for the rise remains unstable. BeInCrypto assessed that a pullback could build a stronger foundation because the rally has not fully broken its correlation with oil. Options and CFTC data show increased bullish bets, while key technical levels include $4,802 as a condition for further gains.
