NIA obtains ISO 37001 certification

Korea’s National Information Society Agency (NIA) said on July 8 it obtained certification for the Anti-Bribery Management System standard ISO 37001 from the Certification Institute for Small and Medium Venture Business. ISO 37001 is an international standard set by the International Organization for Standardization to assess whether policies, procedures and internal controls are operated to global criteria to manage and prevent corruption risks. NIA said it reorganised its ethics management framework and established risk controls.

MSIT holds joint briefing on 10 AI projects for livelihoods, to roll out services sequentially

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said on Thursday it will hold a joint briefing in Seoul on its \"10 AI projects for livelihoods\" to quickly introduce services people can experience in daily life. The projects span consumer life, public convenience and social safety, and involve 10 ministries and agencies and participating companies. The ministry plans to sequentially launch 4 services within 2026 and start the remaining 6 projects in the first half of 2027.

AI chip cost breakdown shows memory share reaches 63 percent

Memory accounted for as much as 63 percent of AI chip component costs in the fourth quarter of 2025, an estimate showed. Epoch AI examined AI chips designed by Nvidia, AMD, Google and Amazon and estimated the memory share rose from 52 percent in the first quarter of 2024. In dollar terms, memory-related spending climbed to about $32 billion in 2025 from about $12 billion in 2024. The figures are estimates with stated uncertainty ranges.
