LG Innotek bets on advanced sensor fusion to collect self-driving sensing data

LG Innotek said on Monday it will operate self-driving sensing data collection vehicles in South Korea with autonomous driving software company Applied Intuition. The programme will start in the Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi areas. The company said it plans to operate about 20 vehicles in total in the country by 2028, including data collection and software development vehicles. It will use the data to improve sensor fusion and edge-case performance.

LG Innotek builds AI parts recommendation system, cuts quote time by more than 70 percent

LG Innotek said on Saturday it has built an AI system that compares parts specifications and prices to quickly identify optimal components for new products. The company integrated about 2 million internal and external parts data points and standardised different names, specifications and units to build an AI-ready database. It said the system provides a reference price by analysing purchase history and price trends, and has cut new-product quoting time by more than 70 percent.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics, LG Innotek face off over next-generation substrates at KPCA

Samsung Electro-Mechanics and LG Innotek are unveiling new semiconductor package substrate technologies at KPCA Show 2026 in Incheon from Sept. 9 to 11. Samsung Electro-Mechanics is exhibiting five items including 2.5D and 2.1D package substrates, glass substrates and automotive FCBGA. LG Innotek is debuting an AI accelerator FC-BGA and plans mass production of high value-added FC-BGA for AI training and inference in 2027. Both are accelerating glass substrate development.
