Bonghwa, Gokseong local love vouchers to be used with post office debit cards

Korea Post will roll out a post office debit card-based local love voucher service in Bonghwa County in North Gyeongsang Province and Gokseong County in South Jeolla Province. It will launch the Post Office Bonghwa Love Card on June 10 and the Post Office Gokseong Simcheong Voucher on June 24. Users can pay even when top-up balances are insufficient, within their account balance, and receive cashback and discounts.

Korea Post Service unveils commemorative stamps for June 10 Independence Movement centennial

The Ministry of Science and ICT’s Korea Post Service said it will issue 480,000 commemorative stamps on June 10 to mark the 100th anniversary of the June 10 Independence Movement. The anti-Japanese independence movement began on June 10, 1926, on the day of the state funeral procession for former Emperor Sunjong. The stamp design symbolically depicts the desire for Korea’s independence and historical scenes from the movement.

Youth Future Savings bonus rates disclosed, banks offer up to 8 percent

South Korea will launch the Youth Future Savings policy finance product on June 22. The Financial Services Commission said it disclosed interest rates and preferential conditions by institution on the Korea Federation of Banks\' consumer portal. The product carries a fixed base rate of 5 percent for three years, with preferential rates adding 2 to 3 percentage points to as much as 7 to 8 percent. With government contributions and tax exemptions, the commission said the effect can be similar to higher simple-rate savings returns.
