Woori Bank selects 45 mid-sized firms in semiconductors, bio and AX for 548 billion won support
Woori Bank will provide about 548 billion won in financial support after selecting 45 mid-sized companies in advanced industries such as semiconductors, bio and AX together with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. The bank said it made the final selection for the eighth intake of its Rising Leaders 300 program. Selected firms can receive loans of up to 30 billion won each and interest-rate benefits of up to 1.0 percentage point in the first year.

MSIT to bolster commercialisation support for challenge R&D with 8 research projects
South Korea will strengthen cooperation with private and public support agencies to accelerate technology transfer and commercialisation of high-risk, high-reward R&D outcomes, the government said. The Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Research Foundation held an event in Seoul to discuss ways to expand results from the Challenge R&D programme. Eight research topics are under way in bio, materials and climate energy through 2027 or 2028. Participants shared linkage plans for follow-on support.

Woori Bank, industry ministry seek 8th cohort for Rising Leaders 300 programme
Woori Bank and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy will recruit companies for the eighth cohort of the Rising Leaders 300 programme until Aug. 14, the bank said on July 27. The programme selects mid-sized firms and candidates with technology and growth potential to provide financial and non-financial services. Selected firms can receive loans of up to 30 billion won each and an interest-rate discount of up to 1.0 percentage point in the first year.
