South Korea science ministry gathers views on \'Korea AI ethics principles\', to adopt in August

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT gathered views from industry, civil society and academia ahead of adopting the \'Korea AI ethics principles\', a voluntary code for AI development and use. The ministry and the Korea Information Society Development Institute held a forum in Seoul with about 70 participants. The draft sets three core values and seven principles, and has been revised after receiving 116 written submissions.

KOSA, KOEMA partner to identify AI demand at industrial sites

Korea Artificial Intelligence and Software Industry Association (KOSA) and the Korea Electrical Manufacturers Association (KOEMA) signed an MOU to expand AX adoption in the electrical industry and foster industrial AI talent. The two groups plan to link KOSA\'s AI supplier network and training capabilities with KOEMA\'s member network and product councils. They will cooperate on AI factories, matching suppliers and manufacturers, using manufacturing data, standardisation, and policy tasks.

South Korea to unveil roadmap to overhaul AI, software payment system as early as September

South Korea plans to release a mid- to long-term roadmap to revise its payment calculation system for AI and software projects as early as next month. The Ministry of Science and ICT is aiming to make it public in September to October. The plan will reflect new business types such as generative AI and AI agents and changes in software development driven by wider use of AI development tools.
