U.S. data centre electricity use is expected to quadruple by 2035 and account for 20 percent of total power generation, as surging AI computing demand accelerates expansion faster than grids can keep up. BloombergNEF sees U.S. data centre capacity reaching about 200 gigawatts within 10 years, with nearly half used for AI training and inference.
