Google is integrating Gemini across the Android platform and expanding it into an AI operating layer spanning smartphones, browsers, cars and laptops, CNBC reported. Ahead of its annual I/O developer conference starting May 19, Google previewed AI app automation, Chrome improvements for Android, creator tools, an Android Auto overhaul and new security features. Gemini Intelligence can understand on-screen content and complete tasks across apps with user approval before transactions.

Alphabet has been re-rated as a beneficiary of AI infrastructure, pushing its shares up about 160 percent over the past year. In after-hours trading on May 10, it briefly surpassed Nvidia by market value. Investors are focusing on Google’s AI models, cloud business, in-house chips and distribution reach. Wall Street has turned more positive after earnings, while some analysts warn about customer concentration and the ability to earn returns on sharply higher capital spending.
