MSIT to tighten telecom service quality assessments to raise 5G user experience

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said on Wednesday it has drawn up a 2026 plan to strengthen telecom service quality assessments, aiming to improve user-perceived quality. The ministry will keep 5G evaluations at 600 sites but expand checks at indoor facilities and outdoor areas, including new categories such as underground commercial facilities. It will also add an advisory standard for areas where more than 10 percent of tests fall below 100 Mbps.

National AI strategy committee launches Chungcheong AX, checks K-Moonshot progress

South Korea\'s National Artificial Intelligence Strategy Committee inspected progress on the K-Moonshot implementation strategy and bio AX, key tasks under the \"Republic of Korea AI Action Plan,\" in the Chungcheong region. Standing Vice Chairman Moon-young Lim (임문영) visited AI research infrastructure in Daejeon and the bio and medical AI industry in Osong. He also delivered a keynote at a forum at Chungnam National University and reviewed supercomputer and AI resource initiatives at KISTI.
