Samsung Electro-Mechanics, LG Innotek face off over next-generation substrates at KPCA
Samsung Electro-Mechanics and LG Innotek are unveiling new semiconductor package substrate technologies at KPCA Show 2026 in Incheon from Sept. 9 to 11. Samsung Electro-Mechanics is exhibiting five items including 2.5D and 2.1D package substrates, glass substrates and automotive FCBGA. LG Innotek is debuting an AI accelerator FC-BGA and plans mass production of high value-added FC-BGA for AI training and inference in 2027. Both are accelerating glass substrate development.

Apple to unveil 3 new iPhone models this week, standard version dropped and foldable to debut
Apple is expected to unveil three new iPhone models this week: iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and iPhone Ultra. Reports say the fall lineup will likely focus on premium models, with the Ultra seen as Apple’s first foldable iPhone priced above $2,000. The Pro models may get an A20 Pro chip, camera upgrades and a smaller Dynamic Island. The standard iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2 could slip to early 2027.
