Hanwha Systems unveils \'space AI solution\' for first time in Poland

Hanwha Systems has introduced overseas for the first time a technology that uses AI to analyse satellite imagery. The company said it held a launch event for its “space AI solution” at MSPO 2026, Eastern Europe’s largest defence industry exhibition, in Kielce, Poland, on Sept. 9 local time. It demonstrated AI interpreting in real time video of Eastern Europe filmed by an operational satellite. The system integrates imagery collection, AI analysis and decision support.

As AI chips grow, packaging substrates shift from round wafers to square panels

As AI chips grow in area, investment is starting at home and abroad to switch packaging bases from round wafers to large square substrates. Using square panels can process 5 to 6 times more chips at once than wafers, raising area utilisation to 87 percent from 57 percent. Competition is also intensifying between Taiwan and South Korean companies over panel-level packaging, a process that reassembles cut chips on a panel and builds moulding and redistribution layers.

Korea Microsoft to hold Industry Summit on Sept. 30

Korea Microsoft will hold the Microsoft Industry Summit on Sept. 30 at the COEX Grand Ballroom in Seoul to share industry-specific AI transformation strategies and on-the-ground cases. The company will present AI use cases and Frontier Transformation 방향 across finance, retail, manufacturing, healthcare and education. It will also run technology sessions featuring customer cases using Microsoft 365 Copilot, Microsoft Foundry and Azure. Korean firms including SC First Bank, Shinhan units and KB Kookmin Bank will present.
