Financial investment industry joins energy-saving push with car use rotation and more remote work

South Korea\'s financial investment industry is stepping up energy-saving efforts in response to global energy supply-demand imbalances and rising prices. The Korea Financial Investment Association said securities firms, asset managers and other financial investment companies are participating. Measures include rotating car use, encouraging public transport, expanding remote work and flexible commuting systems. Companies are also cutting building power use by adjusting elevator and HVAC hours and switching off lights outside working hours.

Bitdeer to develop Norway\'s largest AI data centre to support Nvidia\'s Vera Rubin

Bitdeer Technologies Group, a bitcoin mining company, plans to develop what it says will be Norway\'s largest operating AI data centre by converting an existing facility through its Tidal Data Center unit. The project targets operation of Nvidia\'s next-generation AI platform, Vera Rubin, and is to be built with Data Center Installations. Bitdeer expects completion in December 2026 and forecasts total power capacity of 180 megawatts.

Samsung Electronics to supply heat pump solution to Cornwall housing complex

Samsung Electronics said on Tuesday it will supply heat pump-based HVAC solutions to a large housing complex in Cornwall, southwest England. The supply will cover 1,500 households in West Carclaze Garden Village, a redevelopment of about 610,000 pyeong of a former mine site. The project involves Eco Bos and Homes England. Samsung will also provide home appliances and its AI-based SmartThings Pro B2B energy management solution across the complex.
