Samsung Electronics put forward AI home appliances and its B2B HVAC business in the Southeast Asian home appliance market. Samsung Electronics said on Wednesday it held the Southeast Asia home appliance tech seminar, The Brief, at its Business Experience Studio in the PVI Tower in Hanoi, Vietnam. The studio opened in August and is an exhibition space designed with a commercial facility concept for products and solutions.
Samsung Electronics demonstrated AI home scenarios that control devices and propose solutions tailored to users' living environments. A representative example is AI Vision, which manages ingredients using an in-fridge camera. Users can check inventory changes of ingredients in real time. Frequently used ingredients are automatically saved to a database, and the refrigerator notifies users of items that need to be purchased based on that data.
It also introduced Food Note, which analyses a week's ingredient usage and provides a report, and the What's for dinner? feature, which recommends recipes using ingredients in the refrigerator. For its care services, it presented Home Appliance Remote Support, in which professional advisers remotely analyse device status and guide users on corrective measures. The company said it supports up to seven years of free software upgrades for Wi-Fi-enabled products.
In HVAC, it presented products reflecting Southeast Asia's hot and humid climate. For residential use, it introduced the Bespoke AI WindFree Combo Pro wall-mounted air conditioner. It is equipped with a Motion Blade that adjusts the direction of cool air by dividing spaces, and a Motion Radar Sensor that detects a user's location, activity level and absence. For B2B products, it displayed the DVM S2 outdoor unit for system air conditioners and WindFree 1WAY and 4WAY ceiling cassette indoor units.
It also demonstrated SmartThings Pro, a B2B integrated control platform that links air conditioners and multiple IoT devices on a single platform to manage device status and energy usage across multiple business sites at a glance. Samsung Electronics is expanding its Southeast Asia and Oceania B2B business. The company said B2B sales in the region are up more than 20 percent from a year earlier this year, and the B2B share within its HVAC business has grown from 29 percent in 2021 to more than 50 percent this year. It plans to continue winning large orders for residential complexes, production facilities and data centres, seeing the region's construction market growing more than five times faster than the global market this year.
Lee Sang-jik (이상직), a vice president at Samsung Electronics' Digital Appliances Business, said, "Based on Samsung Electronics' differentiated AI technology and connectivity, we will provide tangible value and convenience to both Southeast Asian customers and B2B partners."
