LG Electronics hosts LG AI Devcon 2026 with 1,500 developers

LG Electronics held LG AI Devcon 2026 for two days from Sept. 15 at LG Sciencepark in Magok, Seoul, under the auspices of the LG SW Council, it said on Tuesday. About 1,500 developers from LG group affiliates joined online and offline. The event included exhibitions of AI technologies from Nvidia, Microsoft, Google Cloud, AWS and the LG AI Research Institute, along with keynotes and presentations on AI-based development and security.

South Korea launches \'4 hubs, 3 special regions\' autonomous R&D plan, to invest 78.9 billion won in 7 zones

South Korea will shift its regional research and development system from a central government and province-led model to a zone-based, locally autonomous approach. The Ministry of Science and ICT said it launched the \'4 hubs, 3 special regions\' programme at KAIST on Wednesday and will push projects in seven zones. It will invest a total of 78.9 billion won this year and expand support after 2027.

Kiwoom Securities joins hands with Mirae Science Technology Holdings to expand deep-tech venture capital

Kiwoom Securities will work with Mirae Science Technology Holdings to expand the supply of venture capital for deep-tech technology companies. Kiwoom Securities said it signed a strategic memorandum of understanding at its Seoul headquarters on Sept. 8 to expand productive finance and venture capital investment. The company said the partnership is part of its strategy to strengthen productive finance and increase private venture capital’s role.
