KT to expand national quantum communications infrastructure with nationwide testbed

KT plans to expand its quantum cryptography communications testbed nationwide by 2028 and verify next-generation quantum communications technologies based on wireless and satellite links. KT said on Oct. 22 it will push ahead with a project led by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency. The project expands the existing testbed centered on Seoul, Pangyo and Daejeon and supports verification and industrialization of next-generation quantum technology.

Asteromorph CEO Lee Min-hyung objects to police decision clearing professor over education claims

Lee Min-hyung (이민형), chief executive of Asteromorph, has filed an objection after police decided not to refer a Yonsei University Wonju College of Medicine professor he accused of raising allegations about his education and career. Police in Wonju, Gangwon Province, cited insufficient evidence in their July 26 decision. Lee’s objection led to the case being transferred to prosecutors under procedures, which does not mean the earlier decision was overturned.

Vice Chair Ha Jung-woo visits Daegu manufacturing AX sites, checks robots and mobility

The presidential National AI Strategy Committee said its standing vice chair, Ha Jung-woo, visited Daegu on Oct. 21 to inspect artificial intelligence transformation (AX) sites in manufacturing, robotics and mobility. Ha attended the opening of FIX 2026 at Daegu EXCO and toured an AI-based process innovation simulation center supporting small and midsize firms. He also reviewed manufacturing AX applied to cathode active material production at L&F Plus. He is set to visit Pohang on Oct. 22.
