Shinhan Bank marks 44th anniversary; CEO says remember founders\' spirit and value of customers

Shinhan Bank marked its 44th anniversary on Tuesday with a ceremony at its headquarters in central Seoul. Chief executive Jeong Sang-hyeok said the bank has prioritised customer satisfaction and urged staff not to forget the meaning of customers and to remember the mindset and urgency of its founding. The bank is also running customer appreciation events through its Shinhan Super SOL app and holding an employee participation running and plogging campaign with donations.

Samsung store visitors up 75 percent, Samsung.com up more than 200 percent

Samsung Electronics said its large-scale discount event is nearing its final stage, drawing shoppers to stores nationwide. Average visitors to Samsung Stores rose 75 percent from a year earlier, with some locations doubling. Samsung.com visitors increased more than 200 percent. The promotion runs at about 1,000 online and offline outlets, including roughly 400 Samsung Stores. Buyers receive digital vouchers worth 20 percent of purchases, or 30 percent for uniformed public officials.
