[DigitalToday reporter Lee Ji-young] Shinhan Bank marked its 44th anniversary, with CEO Jeong Sang-hyeok (정상혁) stressing the importance of customers.

Shinhan Bank held a ceremony for its 44th anniversary on Tuesday at its headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul.

In a commemorative address, Jeong said Shinhan Bank has made customer satisfaction its top value and concentrated company-wide capabilities. He said the bank must not forget the significance of customers who made today’s Shinhan possible, and must always remember the founders’ spirit and urgency at the time of its establishment.

Shinhan Bank is also holding customer appreciation events to mark its 44th anniversary.

Through Shinhan Super SOL, it is running the “Super SOL X SOL LINK Ddaenggyeoyo discount coupon event”. It is also holding the “Shinhan 20+ Run” and “Shinhan 50+ Walk” events linked to a health platform. It is offering customers My Shinhan points and access to the digital cognitive function test program “Gieokkokkok”.

Donation activities are also being held. Shinhan Bank has been running the “Shinhan Saessak RUN,” a contactless running and plogging event involving employees, from June 29 through July 11.

Shinhan Bank will also raise a total of 100 million won in donations by combining employees’ participation fees and the bank’s matching donations. The donations raised will be delivered to seven donation recipients that fit the “7B” founding philosophy, including firefighters, national merit recipients and multicultural families.

A Shinhan Bank official said the bank will fulfil its social responsibility and move forward as a more trusted bank, based on its founding spirit of putting customers first.
