Smilegate Futurelab launches \'Prompt to Film\' to support AI short filmmaking

Smilegate Futurelab said on Wednesday it is recruiting participants for \'Prompt to Film\', an AI film-creation support programme for creators aged 16 to 24. Applicants can apply via the Futurelab website through Oct. 12. Participants will produce a short film over about four months using AI and attend expert lectures on storytelling, AI film production and schedule management. Mentors include Lee Sang-yong, Jang Kwon-ho and Shin Young-sik. Completed works will be shown in February 2027.

LG CNS to hire hundreds of entry-level staff across 9 roles including AI and robotics

LG CNS said on Wednesday it will hire hundreds of entry-level employees in the second half of the year across nine roles, including AI and robotics. Open positions include consulting, DX engineer, cloud application modernization, architect, ERP, smart factory and convergence engineer. Applications are accepted through Sept. 14. Candidates with at least a bachelor\'s degree, or those graduating in February 2027, can apply regardless of major.

As AI chips grow, packaging substrates shift from round wafers to square panels

As AI chips grow in area, investment is starting at home and abroad to switch packaging bases from round wafers to large square substrates. Using square panels can process 5 to 6 times more chips at once than wafers, raising area utilisation to 87 percent from 57 percent. Competition is also intensifying between Taiwan and South Korean companies over panel-level packaging, a process that reassembles cut chips on a panel and builds moulding and redistribution layers.
