[DigitalToday reporter Yoonseo Lee] XRP exchange inflows over the past 30 days rose to 6.005 billion tokens, the highest level since March.

On Oct. 20, Cointelegraph reported that the 30-day cumulative XRP exchange inflow on Oct. 19 hit a seven-month high, based on figures compiled by on-chain analytics firm CryptoQuant.

Inflows are about double the level seen in mid-August. Over the same period, XRP rose from around $1 to $1.70 before recently pulling back to about $1.30. With the volume moving to exchanges rising quickly, the market is focusing on short-term trading demand and whether liquidity is expanding.

CryptoQuant said exchange inflows topping 6.0 billion tokens and hitting a seven-month high shows asset flows have clearly shifted toward exchanges. It said the trend could reflect rising trading activity and liquidity, and could be the result of increased XRP transfers between wallets and exchanges.

Whale investors, however, have sharply reduced exchange withdrawals. CryptoQuant, citing exchange withdrawal data, said interest in XRP is plunging. That suggests large investors may be waiting for more favourable price levels rather than increasing exposure.

The 90-day moving average of whale withdrawals peaked at $3.5 billion in February 2025 before dropping sharply. That coincided with the period just after XRP hit its all-time high of $3.40. The figure has since fallen 98.6 percent, with the 90-day moving average now down to $49.7 million. That is the lowest level since October 2021.

CryptoQuant said XRP could struggle to secure buy orders without whale support. It also said XRP showed notable resilience even amid a cryptocurrency bear market in 2026, calling that a positive factor.

Bitcoin investors also turned cautious in October. Glassnode said profit-taking across investors eased while BTC/USD moved between $80,000 and $87,000.

Glassnode said bitcoin's realised profit-to-loss ratio fell 50 percent over the past week, from 0.8 to 0.4. It said on-chain sentiment is shifting to a calmer phase as profit-taking cools relative to loss-taking, and aggressive market spending has also weakened.

XRP is now receiving mixed signals of rising exchange inflows and whales staying on the sidelines. In the short term, whether liquidity expands and trading becomes more active will be in focus. Over the medium to long term, attention is likely to centre on whether large investors' funds flow back into the market.
