Companies seek cheaper AI as cost burden grows
More companies are turning to cheaper AI models as costs become a burden, Axios reported on Thursday. The report said a growing number of companies are closely monitoring usage or switching to lower-priced models amid concerns that AI costs could surge. Factory CEO Matan Greenberg said many tasks do not require Opus. He added customers fear being locked into a single vendor due to possible future price increases.

Musinsa accelerates \'Next Beauty\' push with offline expansion
Musinsa Beauty\'s offline stores helped raise online transaction value for brands that moved in, it said. Average daily online transaction value for about 500 brands that entered a permanent beauty shop at Musinsa Mega Store Seongsu last month rose about 35 percent from before the move-in period. Several brands posted triple-digit growth. Musinsa Beauty plans to open additional offline beauty stores in Seongsu and Hongdae in September and November.

Nvidia AI CPU \'Vera\' posts first benchmark results, close to AMD EPYC
Nvidia\'s next-generation AI-focused CPU, Vera, delivered performance close to AMD\'s top-end EPYC lineup in public benchmarks, and led in some areas. Tests cited by online outlet Gigazine showed strong single-socket results and near dual-socket flagship EPYC performance in some code compilation tasks. The benchmarks were based on measurements by Linux-focused outlet Phoronix. Vera uses Nvidia-designed Olympus cores, supports FP8 and PCIe 6 and is aimed at data centres.
