[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang] Global virtual twin company Dassault Systemes said on Thursday it will cooperate with digital infrastructure company Vertiv to accelerate AI factory design and buildout.

The two companies will combine Dassault Systemes' 3DEXPERIENCE agentic platform and Vertiv's digital infrastructure expertise to help configure, simulate and validate Nvidia DSX AI factory infrastructure in a virtual environment before it is built in the real world.

They plan to reduce complexity in the on-site buildout process and shorten the time from initial design to actual operation of AI computing infrastructure.

According to Dassault Systemes, the cooperation is based on SmartRun, Vertiv's configurable virtual twin solution.

Dassault Systemes' 3DEXPERIENCE platform provides model-based systems engineering (MBSE), simulation and virtual twin functions. It supports configuring and validating Vertiv's pre-designed SimReady power and cooling reference designs based on the Nvidia Vera Rubin DSX AI factory reference design and the Nvidia Omniverse DSX blueprint.

An AI factory is a complex infrastructure in which power, cooling, network, control and computing systems are tightly connected, and a design change in one area can have a significant impact on performance and operations in other areas. For efficient AI factory buildout, an integrated engineering approach is needed to validate system-wide interactions and performance in advance, beyond individual infrastructure, Dassault Systemes stressed.

Through the cooperation, the two companies aim to accelerate by up to 10 times the process of configuring and validating AI factory solutions based on customer requirements and to cut by up to 50 percent the set infrastructure buildout period.

Elisa Prisner (앨리사 프리스너), executive vice president for strategy, industry, marketing and transformation at Dassault Systemes, said, "AI factories are among the most complex engineering systems being built today." She added, "To address this complexity, an integrated approach is essential to model, simulate, orchestrate and optimize the entire system in a virtual twin environment before building a real facility." She said, "Through cooperation with Vertiv, Dassault Systemes is converting standardized infrastructure expertise into a configurable virtual twin for the Nvidia DSX AI factory." She added, "With the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, customers will be able to review various infrastructure configurations and understand the impact of design decisions, while verifying the performance of the entire system in a virtual environment before building real infrastructure."
