Global short-drama platform ReelShort has already surpassed major OTT services such as Netflix and Disney+ in mobile viewing time. Usage across short-drama apps is rising quickly, and sales are forecast to grow this year. China is expanding production using generative AI, while concerns are growing over addiction, spending and content quality.

Amazon Prime Video joins short-form news race with News Clips
Amazon is adding short-form news to Prime Video as more users consume news through brief videos on platforms such as TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts. Prime Video has introduced News Clips in the United States, offering edited local and national news from multiple providers on a dedicated page. The service starts on TV and Fire TV devices and will expand to the web and iOS and Android apps. It is free for all Amazon customers in the United States.

Naver to live stream 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games
Naver said on Wednesday it has opened a special page for the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games and will live stream major events via Chzzk. Chzzk will provide real-time coverage of broadcaster-channel feeds and key esports matches during the tournament from Sept. 19 to Oct. 4, starting with the men’s national team basketball preliminary at 4 p.m. It will also run creator watch-along content and expand AI-based viewing features.
