Game industry expands playtests from early development

South Korean game companies are increasingly running playtests from early in development, using player data and feedback to adjust game structure and balance and then testing again. NC Publishing’s Time Takers is set for another Steam global playtest in November after tests in March and September. Similar approaches are being used for Line Games’ Code Exit and Krafton-published Project Zeta. Valve will hold Steam Next Fest from Oct. 20 to 27.

Shina Chung says AI will build next decade of connections as Kakao expands KakaoTalk agent ecosystem

Kakao is expanding KakaoTalk into a space where users can assign tasks to AI agents and receive results. CEO Shina Chung said the company will use AI to create connections for the next decade, extending existing links from recommendations to execution for search, shopping and reservations. Kakao unveiled the KakaoTalk assistant Canana Space and the PC-based agent creation service Kanvas, and plans to add a new KakaoTalk area in the first half of next year to connect personal agent teams, including external agents.

NCSoft to test \'Time Takers\' in November to check gameplay improvements

NCSoft will hold a global playtest for \'Time Takers\' on Steam from 8 a.m. on Nov. 13 to 8 a.m. on Nov. 16, it said on Tuesday. Players can apply through the game’s Steam store page. The test will review improvements reflecting feedback from September, including combat balance, character traits, movement controls, combat feedback and visibility, along with a revamped matchmaking system. The title is being developed by Mistil Games.
