NCSoft has unveiled for the first time the scenario and combat build of its upcoming title 'Astrae Oratio', slated for release in 2027, at Tokyo Game Show 2026 (TGS 2026).

NCSoft said on Sept. 17 it is taking part in TGS 2026 and is holding the first public hands-on demo of 'Astrae Oratio', which is being developed by Dynamis One.

'Astrae Oratio' is an RPG set in a world where reality and magic coexist.

NCSoft set up a dedicated booth for 'Astrae Oratio' at the event. The demo area is themed on the Special District Office, a key location in the game, and visitors can try scenario mode and combat mode.

The booth stage features an in-game 'Tokyo Tower' and a large LED screen. It is also holding a "scenario screening" featuring the game’s early story. The company also set up an exhibition space using Samsung Electronics' glasses-free 3D monitor, "Spatial Signage", allowing visitors to view characters in three dimensions.

NCSoft held a media preview on the first day of the event, Sept. 17, introducing the game’s features and development direction. Game director Jong-gyu Lim (임종규) and art director In Kim (김인) attended.

Lim presented a development direction of connecting story and combat into a single play experience rather than treating them as separate content.

Lim said, "We will make play elements such as story, art and combat into one complete game and expand it through live service," and added, "Starting with the first demo at Tokyo Game Show, please watch the game grow like a serial with new stories and characters."

NCSoft plans to gauge user reactions through the TGS demo and a global closed beta test (CBT) scheduled for later this year, and reflect the feedback in development.
