Nexthus is entering testing for its first self-published new title and is also unveiling its in-house payments infrastructure for the first time, as it moves to expand the Web3 gaming ecosystem.

Nexthus said on June 5 it has begun a global closed beta test (CBT) for its Web3 strategy simulation (SLG) game "Frost Kingdom."

The test runs through June 10, and any global user can take part via a mobile app or PC. For PCs, it uses an HTML5 format that runs immediately in a web browser without installing a separate program, boosting global accessibility.

Frost Kingdom is a Web3 game that combines a detailed SLG economic structure covering resource production, exchange and consumption with a merge system, set in a medieval world. It supports content such as collecting and developing about 100 types of units and heroes, as well as guild features.

The test goes beyond a simple functionality check, and is significant in that it applies Nexthus' in-house web shop platform, Cross Game Hub, in real-world conditions for the first time. The company plans to run its artificial intelligence-based web shop and payments infrastructure under the same conditions as a live environment to systematically secure economic data in a Web3 gaming setting. Taking the user environment into account, any amount paid during the test will be fully refunded after the official launch as Blue Diamonds, the game's key in-game currency.

A token-linked rewards program to activate the platform ecosystem will also be launched. Users who complete missions linked to the streamer platform Cross Wave or share content will receive CROSS tokens. A guild power ranking event will also be held, selecting the top 20 guilds and paying out a total of 14,600 CROSS tokens on a differentiated basis.

Nexthus CEO Hyun-kuk Jang (장현국) said, "SLG has a complex economic structure, making it the genre that best meshes with game tokenomics." He added, "Through this CBT, we will not only raise the title's level of completeness, but also use it as an opportunity to diversify the Cross platform's successful genres from MMORPGs to SLG."
