JoyCity is set to step up engagement with the market by giving an early look at a demo version of its next-generation soccer game on a global platform.

JoyCity said on Thursday that its subsidiary Ure is developing a new soccer game, Freestyle Football 2, which will take part in Steam Next Fest, a new-title showcase hosted by global PC game platform Steam.

Steam Next Fest is an online festival where players can try demo versions of upcoming global releases. It runs from June 16 to 23 Korea time.

JoyCity decided to release the demo early from June 10, ahead of the festival's opening, to match the season for global soccer celebrations.

Freestyle Football 2 is a soccer game being produced by the original development team behind the Freestyle sports game series. It features a combination of realistic graphics and the brisk fun of arcade games.

It has previously held two rounds of closed beta tests, spanning platforms from consoles such as Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 to Steam and the Xbox PC platform. In the second test, which was limited to the PC platform, global users flocked in and the company expanded servers, drawing a positive response from the market.

Kim Myung-soo (김명수), head of development and CEO of Ure, said, "We are glad to be able to showcase the appeal of Freestyle Football 2 to users around the world through the global stage of Steam Next Fest." He added, "Based on gameplay proven through the two CBT rounds and user feedback, we plan to show a more complete version, so we ask for your interest and participation in the demo play starting on the 10th."
