Hanwha Group opens Pompidou Center Hanwha in Seoul
Hanwha Group opened Pompidou Center Hanwha in Seoul, the world’s third Pompidou museum after Spain’s Malaga and Shanghai West Bund in China. Hanwha Culture Foundation held an opening ceremony on May 19 at the 63 Building annex in Yeouido, Seoul. Attendees included Hanwha executives and cultural figures as well as France’s ambassador to South Korea and the head of the Pompidou Center. The museum opens to the public on June 4.

Netflix renews MOU with KOCCA, KOFIC for fourth year to train K-content talent
Netflix said on April 29 it signed a business cooperation agreement with the Korea Creative Content Agency and the Korean Film Council on April 23 at its Seoul office. The three-way agreement, now in its fourth year, aims to train K-content specialists. Netflix and KOCCA jointly run the KOCCA x Netflix Production Academy, while Netflix is also expanding programmes for emerging creators with the Korean Academy of Film Arts.

KAIST develops \'smart door\' semiconductor structure to sharply expand storage capacity
KAIST said on Thursday a research team led by electrical and electronic engineering professor Byungjin Cho (조병진) overcame limits to higher-density 3D V-NAND by applying a new material to an ultrathin semiconductor layer. The team used boron oxynitride, or BON, in the tunnelling layer to selectively control charge movement with an asymmetric energy barrier. Tests showed erase speed improved by up to 23 times, with high durability and more precise control in penta-level cell operation.
