Tesla to build in-house maps and navigation system to address FSD limits

Tesla is moving to build its own mapping as it seeks to fix key problems in its Full Self-Driving (FSD) system. The company said it is developing an in-house maps and navigation framework to improve speed-limit recognition, parking and route selection. AI vice president Ashok Elluswamy said Tesla is building an AI map and navigation architecture based on data collected by its fleet and designed to learn driver preferences and respond to voice commands.

Tesla drops \'Full Self-Driving\' name in Europe after regulator pushback

Tesla has changed the name of its FSD driver-assistance feature in Europe to “assisted driving,” after German regulators said the previous branding could be misleading. Tesla had sold the feature in Europe as “Full Self-Driving (Supervised)” and continues using the name in the United States, where owners can subscribe for $99 a month. German authorities said FSD supports parts of driving and drivers must stay attentive. U.S. safety regulators are also investigating FSD.

Synopsys unveils multi-domain agent portfolio

Synopsys said on Thursday it unveiled Synopsys AgentEngineer, a multi-domain agent portfolio in which AI agents handle reasoning, planning and execution across the full silicon and system development process. The company said the tools help engineering teams boost productivity, improve design quality and finish key workflows faster, while optimising token efficiency and reducing latency. It also introduced task-level agents and said they operate with AgentEngineer on an Autopilot platform.
