Apple rolls out iOS 27.2, adds Apple Pencil and Edge Light to iPhone Duo

Apple has released iOS 27.2, strengthening its latest features while also providing a security update for users on an earlier version. The update adds two iPhone Duo-only features: official support for the Apple Pencil (USB-C) for writing, annotations and sketches on both external and foldable internal displays, and an Edge Light feature that adds a light border around the screen to illuminate faces during video calls. Apple also released iOS 26.7.2 focused on security fixes.

Apple adds Korean to Siri AI, remembers prior chats and uses personal context

Apple rolled out its operating system 27.2 update, expanding features and language support for its AI assistant Siri AI. The update adds the ability to remember previous conversations and use broader personal context, and introduces Korean and four other languages. It also adds settings to control which apps Siri and related functions can access and enables copying selected sentences from Siri AI responses. Apple said additional languages are planned by year-end, while availability remains limited in mainland China and the EU.

Apple to roll out iOS 27.2 next week; six core iPhone apps to change

Apple will roll out iOS 27.2 next week, adding new features to six default iPhone apps: Messages, Apple TV, FaceTime, Home, Apple Podcasts and Games. Messages gains a suggested actions feature for follow-up tasks. Apple TV adds profile selection on iPhone and iPad. FaceTime expands dual capture to group calls. Home strengthens smart lock automation. Apple Podcasts reorganises the play queue, and the Games app updates its Home tab and tracking displays.
