Apple unveiled its next-generation Apple TV 4K on Tuesday. The product improves performance over the previous generation and strengthens its home hub functions.

The key is the A19 chip. Compared with the previous generation, CPU performance is up to 50 percent faster and GPU performance up to 2 times faster. A dedicated AV1 decoder has also been added, offering high-quality streaming with less bandwidth. The new Siri Remote keeps the existing design while supporting Find My. Precision Finding and a sound feature make it easier to locate a lost remote.

It also continues to serve as a home hub. With a compatible doorbell, alerts appear directly on the TV, allowing users to check visitors, talk or unlock the door without stopping what they are watching. It also supports automations, guest mode and local processing for HomeKit Secure Video. Built-in Wi-Fi and Thread technology connect with smart home devices.

Apple also strengthened privacy protections. The A19 chip includes a Secure Enclave that processes microphone data separately from the system. Data processed in this area cannot be accessed by tvOS, apps, users or Apple. HomeKit Secure Video footage is stored with end-to-end encryption.

Bob Borchers (밥 보셔스), Apple's vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, said, "The new Apple TV 4K delivers the most immersive home theater experience ever."

The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K can be pre-ordered in South Korea and 29 countries and regions from 10 a.m. on Wednesday through the Apple Online Store and the Apple Store app. The release date in South Korea is Nov. 13 and the price is 449,000 won.
