Korea space agency to release 67,000 high-resolution satellite images to support AI development

The Korea Aerospace Administration said on Monday it will release about 67,000 high-resolution standard satellite images for free to support AI technology development by domestic satellite-application companies. From Sept. 30, it will begin a pilot release to domestic firms of images taken by the Arirang 3 and 3A satellites. The agency said the images are pre-processed and can be used without additional work, but their sale or redistribution is prohibited.

HYBE posts Q2 operating profit of 170.9 billion won, up 159.3 percent

HYBE reported a second-quarter operating profit of 170.9 billion won, up 159.3 percent from a year earlier, in a preliminary tally filed on July 28. Revenue rose 105.5 percent to 1.45 trillion won and net profit climbed 613 percent to 109.8 billion won. The company said quarterly sales and operating profit hit record highs, supported by artist comebacks, world tours and higher merchandise and licensing revenue. Weverse monthly active users reached 14.43 million.

Google joins \'BTS The City Arirang Busan\' as official AI companion

Google is taking part in the citywide culture project \'BTS The City Arirang Busan\' through June 21 as an official artificial intelligence companion, running Gemini-based experience programs. It will offer personalised itinerary planning, voice-based real-time local information and interactive digital missions at key tourist hubs such as Busan Station, Haeundae and Blueline Park. Gemini will also be integrated as a partner app into Weverse\'s stamp rally page.
